Hi Andy,
I am sure Paul, Louise and I would love to see that level of success but we are pitching this at a smaller age group.  Not expecting 80 plus on the first week but if we were that lucky then we have contingency plans!!!  If the numbers are not that high then the intention is to use the facilities in the stadium but at different parts.  I am sure you will recall when we shared the facilities with FVS Tri and there were  as many as 20 in each group and we were able to live in harmony!!! A key success factor has to be that the usual scheduled training sessions on Saturday mornings are not impacted adversely. In time, we hope to see some of the youngsters come through into the club and in turn into the Saturday sessions.

I am sure we will see how things are going to shape up during the month of January and early February. This is another reason why we are keen to grow our coaching team and I am sure you can play a part in that in the future.

Cheers

Chris

Guys,  will these sessions be sharing the track with the usual FVS track session that is the same time ? How will it work ?

If its as successful as when the starter group started there could be 80 people turning up !!

Andy.

Run 4 Fun

On the 9th January the club will be launching a new training initiative called Run 4 Fun.

Working with Stevenage Borough Council and Herts Sports Partnership the aim is to enable sport participation by youngsters in Hertfordshire to increase and for as many people as possible to become able to run 4 fun in 2010.  The group will be targetted at the 17 to 25 year old age group. No previous experience or ability is required.  The sessions will start at about an hour in duration and gradually build up to about 2 hours with the aim to have youngsters running for fun as part of their weekly routine by the Spring.

Participation is completely free for the first 5 weeks with a minimal fee of 50p per week thereafter to cover insurance requirements.

If you have friends or family that are making a new year's resolution to build exercise into their weekly routine, and are in the 17-25 year age band, then please encourage them to come along to Run 4 Fun.  The first session is at 9.15am on Saturday 9th January at Ridlins Stadium, Woodcock Road, Stevenage.

For more information please go to  www.fvspartans.org.uk/Run4Fun or contact Paul Holgate on 07764 237659, or by e-mail at paul.holgate@bt.com.
